Pictures
All pictures of watches are made by ourselves with a Sony α6300 camera and a Sony E 30mm f/3.5 macro lens or an iPhone X under natural light. The pictures are cropped and exposure, saturation and sharpness are corrected.
Some pictures on Instagram are highly manipulated with help of appropriate programs for aesthetic reasons. Please refer to the pictures on this site for proper judgment about the watches.
Organisation, Gender attribution, Watch quality
The watches for sale are grouped by brand or category and listed in descending order of age. The historical attribution to gender is self explanatory. The watches formerly attributed to ‘gents’ are usually unisex. Special sections are dedicated to chronographs, pocket watches, preciously cased cocktail watches or rare watch parts.
Please note that every watch for sale has been meticulously inspected, cleaned, reversibly restored if needed (it’s always stated if this is the case) and the movements are adjusted as precisely as possible. Concerning the precision of vintage watches please see below and refer to the part ‘Buying Tips‘.
In general we’re very happy with the watches precision rates. If you’re not happy with the precision of the watch, we suggest you have it serviced at your own cost. As usual with vintage watches also from other sources, we can not (no one can!) guarantee long term precision, as the long term behaviour of a vintage movement can not be foreseen, unless much of the movement is replaced, which we always avoid.
Some watches are serviced by James prior to sale, for those watches James grants a guarantee for 1 Year. Latter watches are clearly marked as being serviced by him.
