She managed to conquer Hollywood and the hearts of the most powerful men of her era. Among her possessions were two diamond set watches, one of those has been in the spotlight since its re-discovery in 2016.

The Blancpain-Rayville platinum cocktail watch presented for auction at Julien’s of Los Angeles in 2016 sold for 225’000$ back to Blancpain.

Extremely elegant, in full Art Deco design, platinum cased ladies cocktail watch. Hinged platinum case back, inside marked ‘10% Irid(ium) Plat(inum)”. Back of the case hand engraved with monogram ‘MEP’. Case top set with 30 brilliant cut, natural diamonds plus 2 bigger, trapezoid cut natural diamonds. Square, silvered, patinated dial with black printed ‘railway’ minute track, black Arabic numerals, marked ‘Swiss’ underneath ‘6’. Original blued steel hands. Modern crown.

Movement: ‘Pery’ signed, ‘Fontainemelon’ caliber 59, manual winding, 17 jewels, shock protected, numbered 65526

Additional info: This watch features the same movement as the watch belonging to Marilyn Monroe (see above), but signed by another retailer. The case is 90% platinum, all original, natural diamonds are present.
