Additional Information:
This model is inspired by the designs of renowned jewellery designer Andrew Grima, a pioneer in British jewellery design. Grima, celebrated as the Royal and society jeweller of his era, is the only jeweller to receive the Duke of Edinburgh’s Prize for Elegant Design. He also earned the Queen’s Award to Industry and won the De Beers Diamonds International Award 11 times. In 1969, Omega commissioned Grima to create the ‘About Time’ collection—one of the brand’s most avant-garde series.
Due to the success of this collection, Omega launched the ‘Time in Style’ line within the ‘De Ville’ series, incorporating elements of Grima’s aesthetic. This included sub-series like ‘Jeux d’Or’ in 18k gold and ‘Jeux d’Argent’ in sterling silver. Although primarily targeted at women, the ‘Jeux d’Argent’ line included rare men’s models, characterized by their distinctive dark cabochon crowns—features seen in this piece.
Grima’s designs are now showcased in prestigious collections, including those of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths.
